Two years ago today, I began my journey to Cape Town to spend 13 weeks with strangers, surfing around the coast of South Africa and Mozambique. Now, just days away from the final round of book revisions to my copy editor, I’m once again facing all the fears that come up any time I venture beyond my comfort zone.

In honor of that courage—which always seems to pay off—I’m sharing a video entry I made earlier this year for PrAna’s “Day Job to Dream Job” contest. I didn’t win the grand prize (seed money to pursue your own dream job), but I had so much fun making the film, I don’t regret one second I spent making it.

I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but you’re crazy dream is worth pursuing! It may not turn out the way you’d hoped (lord knows, mine rarely do!) But everything always ends up happening as it should.
